Curated by Patricia Arquette and her son, artist and musician Enzo Rossi. Our speaker series will explore the life and legacies of inspiring people through events designed to foster conversation, introspection, celebration and understanding.
We will explore the history of pivotal activists and movements, honoring vanguards and outsiders who helped forge the future despite living in the constricting historical past. We want to hold a space where we as a community learn together about the contribution of little known or undiscovered artists and nonconformists who helped shape the world we live in today and are forging the path for our new tomorrow. There is a connection with humanity in a vital community, which is a fleeting commodity in our new digital era.
Themes will celebrate pioneers and revolutionaries in politics, the arts and the history of cannabis. We will also focus on cannibas related health issues and breakthroughs of like Anita O’Day and Audre Lorde; musicians, playwrights, authors, artists and filmmakers including Yma Sumac, Wendy Carlos, James Baldwin, Jessica Tanzer and Bill Gunn all of whom brave uncharted and murky waters while speaking truths of identity, fighting and being truly alive; and iconic figures like Marsha P. Johnson and Silvia Rivera, Trans and Queer freedom fighters whose lives and work are often overlooked yet without whom so many would live and die in fear and silence.
